School's...

Our university is on the quarter system as well, as are all of the University of California schools, except for Berkeley.  There are some things I like about quarters (I never get bored with my classes, for example), but in general, I find it very annoying.  It makes it difficult to participate in national internship programs that start in June and it’s easy to lose motivation at the end of May/beginning of June when your friends from other schools are already done and on their summer breaks.  Also, there’s the whole having three finals weeks every year thing.

Anyway, congrats!  My last final’s tomorrow.  I can’t wait for this week to be over.

britticisms:

out for summer.

4 papers (and one final) down, 0 to go, son!

(Someone asked, here’s the answer: The top 3 (lol) Chicago schools - U of C, Northwestern, and DePaul - are on a quarter system, so we start school in mid to late September, and end school in mid to late June. It’s stupid, but what can you do? They all decided to do this for some insane reason.)
